Happy 5th Birthday Ashlin Ash Ashy

I am a little late in blogging (if you haven't been able to tell) but I am trying to slowing catch up.

Here is all about my sweet Ashlin Ash Ashy turning 5!

About a year and a half ago Ashlin's cousin Abby got her ears pierced for her 5th birthday. Ashlin, as soon as she saw them, asked if she could get her ears pierced. My answer was "well, when you turn 5 maybe you can get your ears pierced." Remember, I was telling a 3 year old this at the time! Fast forward to this year when I ask Ashlin what she wants for her birthday, and imagine my surprise when she casually says, "My ears pierced, remember, you said when I was 5!" Brett who was sitting right there looks at me with an "oh really?" look. I told Brett about what had happen over a year ago, and that it had never even been brought up again since and I had long forgotten my comment. She kept asking, and so we decided I had better make good on my promise. They hurt more than she thought, and she didn't like to clean them at first. Here are her super cute new earrings!

We went to a fun gourmet doughnut place Amber took us to once that Ashlin always asks to go back to. They are the best doughnuts I have ever had! Good thing they are pretty pricey so I don't go there every day! Aunt Alyssa came with us to celebrate- If you notice she has a hot new look with the bangs.

After doughnuts, we headed down to Payson to see Jack play baseball. Ashlin and Rachel had a blast playing. Shauni was even nice enough to make one of Ashlin's favorite dinners (breakfast!) Here is the "bed" they made to watch a movie. I honestly don't know what our lives are going to be like when they move!!!

The next day, it was party time! Ashlin had an Ariel themed party at the splash park. All her friends showed up along with Aunts, Uncles and cousins. It was a very special day for her. And she was the perfect little hostess greeting her guests when they arrived and telling them bye when they left.

Here are the uncles who came, and were the center of many water fights. Single ladies (or someone who knows a single lady)... the one on the left is quite a catch and still looking for that special someone! Don't forget to enlarge the photo so you can see those big muscles... he works out! And has a job! And a house (kind of)!

Some of the girls. (Cate always on guard)

Baby Sam... crawling all over.

Catching grapes. We can entertain ourselves with just a bowl of grapes. Am I the only one who actually caught one? I think yes, probably because I am the most talented of all my siblings present.

And of course the pinata! According to Ashlin a party is not a party without one.

Happy Birthday Ashlin! We love you so much and can't imagine our family without you!

How super fun!!! I guess I will be real careful what I say to Ashlin. She has the memory of an elaphant.

Umm, Jenae, you put up a picture of me in a swimming suit with my tongue sticking out, and didn't ask?! Actually, it is one of my better pictures, so I guess it is ok. And you get another point for getting in a dig about none of the rest of us catching any grapes. All on a post about Ashlin Ash Ashy's birthday - impressive. None of this is lost on me...there will be revenge. You should have put up a picture of you in your swimsuit, which I love and want to purchase - we can be twins! Love it already...if only I were as skinny as you and had your amazing stork-like legs.

5?! Seriously? Weren't we just prego and teaching weight lifting? Brooklyn totally asked me the other day if she could get dots in her ears like me...

P.S. It was SO so good to catch up :)
