Pinkalicious

Ashlin's cousin gave her Pinkalicious for Christmas, and it was an instant hit in our house. We invited Cate over to help make some pinkalicious cupcakes. If you haven't read this book, it is really cute.

yum.... pinkalicious

Nice Try boys...

You may remember the snowman Justin, Ashlin and I made a couple of months ago:

Well, Blake and Jerry were over at our house and Ashlin convinces them to go build a snowman with her. They decide to WAY out due Justin's snowman. Here is their comparison. You be the judge. (And No, nothing happened to his head...that is the way they left him)

Brunch with Friends

These pictures just crack me up- mainly because of Cate's poses.

Not the only one in surgery...

Rachel wasn't the only one in surgery this last week- our computer received a new hard drive this week so we have been without a computer. Luckily it was still under warranty, and Brett was so excited because they upgraded us to the new operating system... leopard or tiger or some animal. He has spent lots of time learning the ins and outs. Brett does love technology. That's why it took me so long to post, so sorry to those who I left hanging about Rachel. The next couple posts are out of order and just random happening around our house the last couple of weeks.

Rachel's Surgery

Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers. Her surgery went great. In fact, they let us go several hours after the surgery because she was jumping on her bed and eating them out of house and home (she was scheduled to stay overnight).

This is before we left her. She was very upset about putting the gown on.

Here is after.

When they first wheeled her to me, she was pretty out of it still. She looked so little compared to the bed she was on. She didn't move an inch when she first saw me, but wouldn't take her eyes off me either. Then, when we got into her room and I sat on her bed, she lunged forward to me and we snuggled for about 30 min. The only time she cried was when she would try to take her IV out and I had to stop her.

Starting to feel more like herself.

Going home. The wagon was more for fun because she was running around before she got in.

Getting Nervous

In exactly one week, Rachel will be having surgery on her umbilical hernia and at the same time having the mole on her leg removed. Today, while the girls were dancing around in their tutus I had a breakdown thinking about rachel being "put under." I want so badly to call and cancel everything.

I also have to be honest and say how nervous I am about the aftermath of Rachel. Rachel can have quiet the temper and is known to hold a grudge. I hope she doesn't hold this against me for too long.

I love this picture because Rachel picked out her own outfit and Ashlin made them both sandwiches. (The mole on her leg is the one being removed)

Much better!

Here are some of the results of Grandma's fancy photography. The girls were very funny during this shoot. Ashlin was trying too hard to follow Grandma's instruction, and Rachel wasn't cooperating at all. But we did manage some pretty cute pictures in my opinion!

I know it is a little hard to believe, but this is the same Rachel from the previous post- not a look-a-like put in the same dress. I included the middle picture just so you could be sure.

Thank you Kelly!! You are a very patient and talented grandma.
