Embarrassed

Ashlin, Rachel, and I went to a Sears near us that is closing to see if there were any great deals on appliances. Everything was fine until I was ready to leave. Ashlin and Rachel had found a playhouse and didn't want to leave. Brett was working late on a school assignment so I was in no real rush to go home so I let them play. Then, Rachel decides to pick on this other little girl there playing so I told my girls it was time to go. Rachel throws a HUGE fit as soon as I removed her from the playhouse.
I have to wrestle her and tel Ashlin to come on. Ashlin starts crying and doesn't leave the playhouse. By now, several people have stopped to watch me. I am getting a little flustered because I can barely control Rachel, and now Ashlin has decided to stand her ground. I tried the "I'm leaving, and hope you come" tactic, but that only made her scream more. Finally I had to pick her up as well. So here I am leaving the store with two girls kicking AND screaming, with many people watching. FInally we reach our car and Rachel decides to continue the fit and arching with all her might so I can't buckle her car seat. After about 3 minutes I finally get her buckled and Ashlin has the nerve to ask, "Mommy can Rach and I have a piece of candy?"
Ummm... let me think...

Instead we came home and they both went straight to bed... without much argument either. They must have sensed that I was furious.

Oh that's so hilarious. I totally feel your pain, except I only have one to worry about. We have caused quite the scene a few times. I can't imagine your sweet, innocent girls even doing something like that though??! haha

I probably would have totally lost it and walked out with only one child in my arms.

No fair girls...tag teaming your mama is not cool! So sorry Jenae, I was cringing as I read the story...I've had Grace do something similiar...but for both of them to join forces, that makes me nervous to go to the store! I do love that Ashlin asked for candy like nothing had happened!

I'm so sorry Jenae! I absolutely hate moments like those (though it is kinda funny to read about--it's always funnier when you're just reading about it and you're not the one it's happening to!) I had a similar moment a few months ago when Abby and Jimmy tag teamed me with a fit--and they also were sent straight to bed as soon as we got home! :) Don't worry--you're a great mom!

I am so sorry! But I am glad to hear other people have kids that do the same thing as mine. Pretty sure we have something like that happen almost every day.

That story sounded WAY to familiar :) I have just about decided that I am done taking both my kids to the store by myself cause the past couple of times have been out of control crazy. Glad I'm not the only one :)

Way to go, Jenae! If anyone could handle that situation, you could! Sorry it happened, though...rough night!
