Shopping and running

Ashlin and I are waiting in the express checkout lane at the grocery store, and there is a man in front of us holding 2 bags of chips. Ashlin leans over and whispers into my ear, "Mom, let's hit him in the back with our cart."

Me: (A little shocked this is coming from my sweet Ashlin) "Um, don't you think that would hurt him?"
Ashlin: "But it would be so funny." (said with a devious grin)

I also have to brag! I am a parent and have that right to brag about my kids right?
So, I have started to run again and Ashlin keeps telling me she wants to go with me, but I tell her I am going to far for her to come and she always looks so sad. So last Saturday I took her out running with me. I was fully expecting her to be done after a couple of minutes, but we ended up circling the neighborhood twice, and she could have gone more! I had to go meet my running group so I told her we could run more when I got home.

When I got home she was all excited and ready to go out again. I couldn't believe it! So I took her on a real running route that I go on up a hill to a church. Which I thought would be perfect because Brett was playing basketball at that church so I thought we could run there (all uphill) and Brett could give us a ride home. And I have to be honest, I thought Ashlin would want to turn back early. She never did! We made it all the way up to the church only to discover Brett wasn't there! So we ran all the way home too! Round trip I would say is about a mile.

And the blisters she got on her feet haven't deterred her from wanting to go more!

I also want to apologize for the lack of pictures... still no camera. And I hate to say it, but there probably wont be one for a long time! But we do still have the iphone that we take pictures with, but only when daddy is home.

That is awesome! I try to get Cambri to go running with me, but she has no desire.

Wow! I am so proud of our little Ashlin! I can't believe she can do all that running! She deserves a good pair of running shoes (do they make them that small?) and some good athletic socks! Keep up the good work Ashlin! You have inspired your grandma.

funny grocery store story. it made me laugh because i can totally picture you saying the same thing when you were her age for some reason. and the running: like mother, like daughter! another powerhouse athlete on the way.
