Those of you who know me, know I am not exactly the most gifted when it comes to crafty things (for example, my t-shirt blanket). My sister-in-law, Shauni, was brave enough to teach me to make tutus. I think I did a pretty good job, and I had so much fun that I decided to make one for Rachel!
Practice Run...
I am making a "Barbie" cake for Ashlin's party and decided I had better practice (I am on a domestic kick or something- first tutus and now cakes). I quickly realized I wasn't going to get much practicing in because I had a very eager helper. She had a blast decorating her very own barbie's skirt. I will have to remember to make her real cake while she is asleep.
I had planned to take the cake in to Brett's work and when we arrived Ashlin started crying and saying, "No mommy, leave my barbie cake in the car.. don't take her in!" I finally convinced her we would make another one for her party.
Backyard fun... FINALLY!!
We have had a very cool spring here, but finally got some good outside playing weather!!
Say "CHEESE!"
I don't exactly know what happened here. Ashlin asked me for some cheese and I told her to hang on a minute and I would cut her some slices. About 2 minutes later she replies, "I don't need you mommy, I got it all by myself."
Another quick story about cheese. Ashlin has a toy she thinks is a camera and she walks around telling me to "Say Cheese, no mommy with more smile... CHEESE! Look at Grandma and say CHEESE"

Ok I love your tutus, maybe you could make me one too. I wish I was that talented. And the cake too is awesome, I was thinking I would give it a try for Abby's birthday. I might need some help from you when I do mine.
You are very talented--I still remember the cake from last year. Can you send some of those cake skills over this way?

Rachel's tutu is so adorable! I LOVE the colors--you did a great job on it! And the cake looks great--we're excited to see the real one!
